Made this for my Son's headteacher as she was retiring. It's vanilla buttermilk sponge, really moist and delicious, with vanilla Swiss buttercream and raspberry conserve. Covered in fondant icing with white cut out flowers and black sugar pearls on the quilted tier.
I was taking the cake to school on Friday 22nd but when i opened the curtains we were surrounded by over a foot of snow. All schools in Flintshire were closed and we were going nowhere. The following day we had a further foot of snow!
So i decided to cut up the cake and gave to my surrounding neighbours so it didn't go to waste! Cake Aid!
